  25. Available PC-Write spacing measurements include:
  26. N-c  centimeters
  27. N-i  inches
  28. N-m  current line spacing
  29. N=p  points (1/72 inch)
  30. N=r  current ruler spacing
  31. N=s  sixth inches (picas)
  32. N=t  dots (300/inch)
  33. N=u  units (97,200/inch)
  34. N-/c per centimeter
  35. N-/i per inch
  36. Decimal is permitted, values are generally accurate to .005
  37. Defaults apply when no unit follows value in guide line:
  38. vertical: sixth inches (s)
  39. horizontal: ruler spacing (r)
  40. Menus default to last unit set for that value (usually inches).

  42. GUIDE LINES
  43. Guide lines control formatting. They are inserted when layout changes are
  44. made using pull-down menus. Guide lines are either ruler lines or dot lines.
  45. You can insert them directly instead, just like typing document text. All
  46. begin with an Alt-G font character. Dot lines begin with an Alt-G followed
  47. by a dot (period). Alt-G characters aren't visible, but guide lines are
  48. highlighted, and "Guide" appears in status line when cursor is on one. Guide
  49. lines don't print. You can hide them along with other formatting codes.

  52. To delete a guide line, place cursor at start and press Ctl-Enter.
  53. To delete just the Alt-G, place cursor at start and press Bksp.

  56. Put each dot line on its own line, preceded by Alt-G.

  251. RULER LINES
  252. A ruler is a guide line that sets paragraph shapes, indents, tabs and
  253. reformat control. When you change layout using pull-down menus, rulers are
  254. inserted. Each starts with an invisible Alt-G, and contains capital letters
  255. used by PC-Write, and lower case letters, dashes and so on for your own
  256. reference. To change look of ruler lines, see CUSTOMIZE.
  257. Rulers break paragraphs. If you want text to wrap across a ruler (e.g. to
  258. run around illustration space), put an "O" letter anywhere in ruler.
